New Teacher Appointment
Tue 25 Nov 2014As you are probably aware, we are trying to keep our class sizes down here at Shrewton C of E Primary School and on Friday we were successful in appointing a new four-day a week teacher for our lucky Year 1s.
She shone at interview both in terms of her teaching and in terms of fitting in with the wonderful team that we already have here. Her name is Mrs. Emma Ryalls and she will be starting with us after the Christmas holidays.
Obviously, it will be very sad to be saying goodbye to Mrs. Hunter (for now anyway!) but she will be leaving us for the minor inconvenience of expecting twins! We all, of course, wish her all the best and hope to see her again soon.
Thank you.

Calculation/Phonics Evening
Fri 07 Nov 2014Many, many thanks to all who braved the miserable November weather to join the staff for an evening of challenging Maths and English (+ tea and bickies) - I really enjoyed it and I hope you all found it useful.
Don't worry if you could not attend this time, we will be running another similar event shortly after the Christmas break.
Full details of how we teach our young learners to add, subtract, multiply and divide will be sent home on Monday so you may feel more confident when helping them at home - 'it's all changed since my day!'

Newsletter Errors - Oops!!
Mon 03 Nov 2014There were a couple of mistakes on this month's newsletter:
1) Parents' Evenings will be on the 12th and 13th of November NOT the 11th and 12th.
2) This Friday's Praise Assembly at the Church will start at 10.40 am NOT 9.10 am.
Apologies and many thanks.
