Safeguarding
Safeguarding at Shrewton
The health, safety and well-being of all our children are of paramount importance to all the adults who work in our school. Our children have the right to protection, regardless of age, gender, race, culture or disability. They have a right to be safe in our school. We believe it is EVERYBODY's responsibility to keep our children safe EVERYDAY.
At Shrewton we respect our children. The ethos of our school is one that provides a physically and emotionally safe and secure environment. We provide opportunities which enable our children to take and make decisions for themselves.
Our teaching of Personal, Social, Health Education and Citizenship (PSHE & C), as part of the National Curriculum, helps to develop appropriate attitudes in our children and helps them learn how to recognise different risks in different situations, and how to behave in response to them.
The Head of School, Mrs Alison Kay, is the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mr Mark Halton.
We have adopted a software package called MyConcern to support our safeguarding arrangements. The requirements of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, our own policies and the safeguarding training provided by us or on our behalf will always remain the definitive source of safeguarding guidance for users of MyConcern.
