Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyones responsibility.
If you have any concerns, please report to one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads:
Designated Safeguarding Lead - Emily Mullord
Deputy Safeguarding Lead - Mark Halton
Deputy Safeguarding Lead - Anna Howell
The health, safety and well-being of all our children are of paramount importance to all the adults who work in our school. Our children have the right to protection, regardless of age, gender, race, culture or disability. They have a right to be safe in our school. We believe it is EVERYBODY's responsibility to keep our children safe EVERYDAY.
At Shrewton we respect our children. The ethos of our school is one that provides a physically and emotionally safe and secure environment. We provide opportunities which enable our children to take and make decisions for themselves.
Our teaching of Personal, Social, Health Education and Citizenship (PSHE & C), as part of the National Curriculum, helps to develop appropriate attitudes in our children and helps them learn how to recognise different risks in different situations, and how to behave in response to them.
The Executive Headteacher, Mrs Emily Mullord, is the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mr Mark Halton and Mrs Anna Howell.
We have adopted a software package called MyConcern to support our safeguarding arrangements. The requirements of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, our own policies and the safeguarding training provided by us or on our behalf will always remain the definitive source of safeguarding guidance for users of MyConcern.
We as a school are proud to be part of a project that runs jointly between schools and Wiltshire Police: ENCOMPASS is the reporting to schools, by the next school day, when a child or young person has affected by a domestic incident.
ENCOMPASS will ensure that a member of the school staff, known as a Key Adult, will be shared the information in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, affected or exposed to a domestic abuse incident. In our case the Key Adult is a member of our Designated Safeguarding Team.
We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our pupils and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.
Our email contact for ENCOMPASS is admin@shrewton.dsat.org.uk
