  • Worship and School Photos

Fri 20 Nov 2020 Mrs Mullord

    Happy Friday, Team Shrewton,

I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.

We are almost up and running with out MS Teams - yay! Next week all pupil accounts will receive a invite for Celebration Worship on Fridays at 10am. Once you accept this will go into the Teams calendar and you will be able join each week without needing a weekly link. We will start this from next week Friday 27th November so that everyone has had their login information and had time to login and have a look around.

School photos - we have been able to rearrange our individual school photos for Wednesday 2nd December. Dahl Class - please wear your uniform not your PE kit on this day and we will swap your PE day to Thursday that week. Unfortunately, until the photographer gets here, it is unclear as to whether we will be able to have sibling photos. Once we have assessed the set up, if we can safely do so, we will. This year you will not receive a physical pack of sample photos but will instead be emailed a code to access your child's photos online.

Thank you for your support as we continue to navigate this virtual world.

With my warmest wishes for the weekend,

  • Important: MS Teams Information

Tue 17 Nov 2020 Mrs Mullord

    Good Morning Shrewton Families,

Over the next couple of days, your child will be coming home with their Microsoft Teams login information (most likely in their reading record). As shared in the newsletter this will be our primary platform for all remote learning work, virtual worship and homework.

When you log in - you will be prompted to change the password. Please make sure it is something your child can easily remember.

Below is a useful video on how to use MS Teams and I have also attached a guide sheet and a link with common FAQs.This week in school each class will be shown what it looks like, how to use the different functions and how to find work and assignments. I will also be setting up a re-occurring link for Celebration Worship which you will be able to join through your child's profile.

I hope you find it easy to use and thank you for your patience while we get it all set up and running, If you have any questions or need further support - please contact your class teacher or email enquiries@shrewton.dsat.org.uk and they will get in touch.

    Have a lovely day.

  • Remote Learning and Parents' Evening

Fri 02 Oct 2020 Mrs Mullord

    Dear Shrewton Families,

Whilst it is rather soggy outside, we have had the most brilliant afternoon focusing on our Design and Technology learning. Einstein were using mixed media to make African animals, Dahl built igloos for their trip to Antarctica, Hawking developed their cutting and resilience by creating Aboriginal masks and Parks used salt to creat textured landscapes of Australia. We will upload some photos to show you!

Under the current circumstances, your child could be off school with a covid related absence, be that waiting for tests or isolating and we want to ensure they still have the opportunity to learn. Therefore please see the document which provides set learning for Tier 1 (2-3 days absence), Tier 2 (10-14 days absences) and Tier 3 (plans for a full lockdown). This can be found under the Community - Home Learning tab. Any completed work can be submitted to class teachers and we can provide exercise books to work in.

Also in letters there is a guide for how to book your Parents' Evening slot via the Arbor App. These will be held across the week commencing 12th October 2020. You can book these from today until next Friday and will need to book one per child. We will then send you an online invite for your chosen time slot. Target cards will be sent home following your discussion with your class teacher. If you have any issues, please email enquires@shrewton.dsat.org.uk and we will get back to you promptly.

Many thanks, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  • Thank you to our families

Thu 17 Sep 2020 Mrs Mullord

    Dear Shrewton Families,

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for your caution around your children being under the weather. We have really appreciated the phone calls/emails letting us know their ailments and taking the time to check whether we are happy for them to be in school.

Children will inevitably get coughs and colds but your increased vigilance is a really important measure in helping to keep our whole community safe and it hasn't gone unnoticed.

    Thank you :)

A guidance poster which details different scenarios for your information can be found on our COVID-19 page under the community tab.

    Wishing you a lovely day.
