Mon 14 Dec 2020 Mrs Mullord

    Good Morning, Team Shrewton!

Welcome to the last week of term, it is set to be a very festive one in school. This morning we have started to record our Christmas songs and performances which after a bit of editing should be ready to share with you on Wednesday! I will be email tomorrow with further details. The Shrewton Silver Band have confirmed they are able to end our term on Friday with some carols and there may even be a VERY special visitor dropping by on his sleigh to see the children off. ALL CHILDREN (including Parks) WILL FINISH at 3pm on FRIDAY. We will be outside from about 2:30pm so please make sure your children have warm coats, hats and gloves etc.

Meanwhile, there is still time to get raffle tickets. Thank you to our lovely F.O.S.S for making up our hampers (pictures attached!).

Parks Class have made the press this week with the project they are working on with GuL. Mr. Dwyer has been nothing but impressed with their attitudes and commitment they have to their community! Check it out here: https://www.salisbury.anglican.org/news/its-good-to-be-gul-able

We have also hit out target to raise £250 for St. Mary's and Candlemas! We are still doing our challenges so there is still time to donate and a HUGE thank you everyone in our school community and beyond who have!

    Fri 11 Dec 2020

We will be open as planned on Friday 18th December for our final flurry of festivities!

  • Covid Cases over Christmas

Thu 10 Dec 2020 Mrs Mullord

If someone in your family is symptomatic and waiting for a test at any point in the Christmas holiday, you must continue to inform us via email on: enquiries@shrewton.dsat.org.uk This will be checked by a member of the Senior Leadership Team twice a day as it is our duty to inform Public Health England of any positive cases.

In the event of a positive case in one of our zones within the first week of the holiday, we will inform families that need to isolate via telephone call. We will continue to ring until we speak to a parent/carer.

We are continually grateful to all families for all your efforts with social distancing, wearing of face coverings and being cautious with any possible symptoms and wish nothing more than for everyone in our school community to have a wonderfully safe Christmas full of love.

  • It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...a few reminders!

Mon 07 Dec 2020 Mrs Mullord

    Good Morning, Team Shrewton,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

There is definitely a Christmas feel in the air in school today. The stage is up ready for Einstein to add the finishing touches to the Nativity and it's been lovely to hear the sound of Christmas songs filling the corridor. Here are a couple of reminders as we head into the last couple of weeks.

    • Children can bring any Christmas cards into school by Wednesday 9th December ready to be given out next week.
    • You can order your child a Christmas Dinner via the Arbor app under the trips section, which needs to be done by Wednesday 9th too. Email enquiries@shrewton.dsat.org.uk if you have any issues and Mrs Brown will get back to you tomorrow.
    • Thank you for your generous donations for our raffle - the hampers, as always, will look fantastic! Raffle tickets need to be returned by Monday 14th December and we will draw raffle in worship on the 18th which you can join via your MS Teams account.
    • Should a pupil wish to give any staff member a Christmas gift, these will also need to be in school by Monday 14th December and clearly labelled as these will also need to be quarantined. We ask that any gifts for other pupils do not come into school.
    • If you would like to order a school photo and have it delivered to school, it needs to be ordered by the end of today. You will still be able to order photos after today, there will just be an additional delivery cost to be posted to your home address.
    • Friday 11th December - pupils can wear their Christmas Jumper instead of their school one. No donation is required.

Finally, we are starting our community fundraiser today with 100 star jumps each!! Throughout this pandemic St. Mary's and Candlemas have gone above and beyond to support vulnerable people in our village. Not just in terms of food, warmth, fuel etc. but also in terms of helping individuals to access the internet, provide company and in some cases bereavement support. So as we ramp up our festivities, we thought it was a good opportunity to reflect and try once again to give something back. Our donation in the Summer really made a difference.

Please share it around and keep an eye on our Twitter feed @ShrewtonSchool to see us complete our challenges each day! There will be 12 in total before the end of term!

As ever, thank you for all your support, we really do appreciate it.

    Have a lovely day,

    Emily Mullord
