Important Lockdown Information

Dear Shrewton Families,

Here we go again!

I would just like to start by saying how wonderful it was to have the opportunity to see our pupils again today. I caught myself thinking many times how brilliant they are at making you forget the chaos in the world around you and live in the moment with them. And what a day it was! Full of alien spaceships, a visit from a cat, pottery painting and all things Tudor related!

As you know, school is now closed to all pupils apart from the children of key workers and vulnerable pupils as per the National Lockdown requirements. It is imperative that everyone stays home where feasibly possible. Listed below is some important information for now. I will, of course, be in touch tomorrow with our home learning plans.

  • If you think your child(ren) are entitled to a place in the key worker/vulnerable pupil provision - please email me back stating your role ASAP and I will email back confirming your attendance. I am assuming this will be roughly the same children who attended Mr Halton's bubble in the hall back in June. Please use the Tanners Lane field entrance and we will create a new bubble. Criteria can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision
  • We are well set up to begin home learning but will need to take tomorrow to transfer our planning, upload documents and get our tech and resources sorted so we will start remote learning in full on Wednesday 5th January. We will email tomorrow with information for each class, live teaching sessions times, worship times etc. For tomorrow, please take the time to indulge in some reading, maybe make a front cover poster for your topic, write a diary entry, bake a cake, do a Jo Wicks work out etc.
  • If you need help accessing your Microsoft Teams account email enquiries@shrewton.dsat.org.uk or call the office tomorrow.
  • If you think you will need any digital devices to facilitate home learning - please email your class teacher or enquiries@shrewton.dsat.org.uk and we can sort something out.

I think, given the lateness of the hour, that is enough for now and will be in touch again tomorrow.

With my very best wishes to you all,

Emily Mullord
