Avon Valley Mini Marathon!

 

Eighteen children (nearly a fifth) of the school took part in the Avon Valley Mini Marathon on 23rd June at Avon Valley College.  It was a really tough course and a hot day but everyone performed brilliantly and made the School feel very proud.  Congratulations to all the children and parents who took part!

Super Swimmers!

 

Shrewton's sporting prowess continued at the 2018 Salisbury Primary School's Swimming Gala held on 19th June at Fiver Rivers Leisure Centre.  Well done to the Year 5 and 6 Children who represented our school so well.  The year 5 girls relay team were 6th out of 23 teams!  Huge congratulations to our individual swimmers - 2nd out of 24 (girls race) and 19th (boys race) in very strong fields of individual swimmers from across the city and surrounding area!

Sports Day 2018

 

Our annual Sports Day took place on Friday 15th June.  The weather was fantastic and the children enjoyed taking part in four field events and a variety of track races watched by parents in the afternoon.  Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to Yellow House who won the overall trophy with 333 points!  Looking forward to next year already!

Congratulations to all the children who entered the poster competition. Your posters are inspiring! Five entries have been sent to the British Science Association, as part of a UK wide competition to win prizes. We were not one of the national winners but we are pleased with all your scientific efforts and thinking. keep on enjoying exploring.

Winner of the School Games Poetry Competition

Winner of the School Games Poetry Competition 1 Rhys has won the School Games Poetry Competition. His winning poem was picked from over 150 entries and he was lucky enough to receive his prize from the CEO of the School games in our Celebration Assembly. He has won £50 worth of book vouchers for himself as well as £100 of book vouchers for the school. His winning entry will also feature in the Relay magazine which is distributed around many schools. Well done Rhys - We are so proud of you.
